Molecular Formula: NaNO3, Molecular Weight: 84.99(according

Properties: Colorless, transparent or white, but with yellow
rhombic crystals, easily melts and dissolves, easily oxidized. It
can ignite if combined with organic matter such as sulphur and phosphorus.
Uses: It is used for making potassium nitrate, in explosive
dyes, and as a medicine. It is also used in solvents for rinsing
metals.
