HXTT Access Questions

Hello

We are evaluating HXTT Access 2.1 and have the
following questions:

1. Does HXTT Access 2.1 run with JRE 1.6.0 ?
2. We had problems to issue sql-select statments
with blanks or special characters in where
clause strings ie.

select x,y,objid from gs_street where street='Am Wasser Weg'

The same select without blanks in where clause
returned with success. We are using Access 97
.mdb files on windows xp. Is this a known problem ?

Thank you for your help.

Regards,

Michael Germann

Yes.

2. We had problems to issue sql-select statments with blanks or special characters in where clause strings ie.

Please zip your access file and send it to our email box(webmaster@hxtt.com or webmaster@hxtt.net). We will check and fix it.

I guess that you should have an index on street column. Because Access 97 will use different index encoding for different charSet, so we need to check your mdb sample.

Hello

Thank you for the fix. Now
blanks are no problem anymore,
but special german characters
(Umlaut) still do not work ie.

'Alte Zrcherstrasse'

You can find serveral examples
in the test .mdb file.

Michael Germann

Hello

We downloaded the new version. Now
it somewat better, but still not
perfect. For example

'Alte Zrcherstrasse' is found

but

'Rtiweg' is not found.

There is still a problem with german
Umlaut characters. Do we have to specify
the characterset by calling some
java function ?

Michael Germann

What's your Access 97 local version? What's your sort order for mdb file?

Hello

See the test .mdb at

http://www.infogrips.ch/download/test.zip

It has to be possible to select any
street value (with or without Umlaut or
Blank / special character).

I download http://www.infogrips.ch/download/test.zip on 25th, and you can remove it to avoid your sensitive information leak. I wonder just what's your Access 97 local version because some index rules for your local language need to be cracked again:)

Hello

We used Access 97 SR-1 german version to
create the database. The database
was filled only by ODBC calls through
the Microsoft Access ODBC driver (not
with Access user interface). I hope this
helps.

Hello

Now it works. Thank you very much
for your quick help.

Regards,

Michael Germann

PS: You can keep the test.mdb for
test purposes. This is not
productive data.
