Is there a way to set up a read only non locking connection for the JDBC DBF driver. Is there a way to do it through the jdbc connection URL?

If you doesn't use lockType connection property, and call java.sql.Connection.setReadOnly(true), then that connection is readonly without lock.

We are going to be using your driver from eclipse. So I won't be writing a java program to set the connection to read only. Is there a way to set the read only connection in the JDBC url?

Something like this? jdbc:DBF://///iec06/tsdata$/;readonly=true

You needn't to call read only method, if you doesn't use update/insert/delete sql. A table will be updatable only when you use update/insert/delete sql.
