Access to Files via Samba

Thank you for your earlier response on 9-29. I am just now getting back to this. I am using this string to connect:
jdbc:dbf:smb://domain;username:password@server/folder

But it is still hanging when I run this statement:

ResultSet resultSet = statement.executeQuery(sqlStatement);

Have you tested this with the domain name to be sure that this string is parsed properly to connect using Samba?

jdbc:dbf:smb://domain;username:password@server/folder is correct.
According to my test,
select * from test; will throw an exception at once
Failed to load table test:jcifs.smb.SmbException: Failed to connect to server
java.net.UnknownHostException: server

"jdbc:dbf:smb://hxtt;administrator:apassword@192.168.0.16/temp" will visit and fetch the database.

It appears that we are using the same syntax for the call, but does this provide a dataset result? You say that you get an UnknownHostException, but then you say that it will visit and fetch the database. I can not be sure from your response that the dataset is returned.

Certainly, the domain name is required, because we've tested without the domain name, which will return quickly with an error that the logon failed.

>You say that you get an UnknownHostException
For your jdbc url sample, because we haven't a host with "server" name

>but then you say that it will visit and fetch the database.
For one test host on hxtt domain.

It appears that the problem was on our end. If we simply use the domain name, the call hangs and does not authenticate. HOWEVER, if we add .local to the domain name, the call completes without issue. Thank you very much for your support :)
