Creating tables from a select statement using long column names
Rob Gansevles

Hi,

If I have an existing table with a long column name, creating a new table from a select will result in truncated column names.

For example, table x has column abcdefghijklmnop, sql 'create table y select abcdefghijklmnop from x' will create table y with column abcdefghijk.

This causes especially issues if there are multiple columns whose names start with the same 11 characters.

Can this be corrected?

Thanks in advance,
Rob Gansevles

You can use versionNumber=DB2K connection property, otherwise the default Visual FoxPro 3.0~9.0 version allows only 11 character for free table.
